Please follow the steps to generate a Meta Conversion API Access Token:
- Log in to the Meta/Facebook account that manages your company's advertising account.
- Open Meta Events Manager.
- Select the correct Data Source
- On the left-hand side, click Data Sources.
- Select the Pixel / Dataset that you want to connect.
- If you have several Pixels or Datasets, make sure you select the correct one.
- Click Settings at the top of the page.
- Find Conversions API: scroll down the Settings page until you see "Conversions API".
- Find the manual setup section
- Under Conversions API, find:
- Set up manually
- (or Set up direct integration in some versions of Meta)
- Generate the token: click "Generate access token".
- Follow the Meta pop-up (the instructions shown by Meta until your Access Token appears).
- Copy the Access Token: click Copy and save the entire Access Token. It will be a long sequence of letters and numbers.
- Provide the Access Token to us
- Send us the copied Access Token through the secure method we have provided.
- Important: Treat the Access Token like a password. Do not post it publicly or share it with anyone who does not need access.
Can't see "Generate access token"?
You may not have sufficient permissions. Meta only shows Generate access token to users with the required developer privileges for the business.
In this case, ask the person who administers your company's Meta Business account to either:
- give you the necessary permissions; or
- follow the steps above and generate the Access Token for you.
