This has only been observed once. It appears to happen when a previous installation of some kind (not necessarily prism) gets suspended (which usually only happens during a system crash or unexpected power outage during an installation, potentially also if the installer crashes) AND the installer was contained in a drive that no longer exists (e.g. a USB stick that is now removed).
It will look something like the following:
Solution
- First, if possible, provide TeamViewer access to the till and contact yR technical support with the details. We have been unable to replicate this problem and would like to investigate this issue to see if anything can be done in the portable installer to prevent it.
- If not possible, try rebooting the till and retry running the installer
- If it's still failing, try running a regular msi file (could be prism.msi if you have it), this should prompt you to roll back the suspended installation.
- If it's still failing, try checking for the existence of the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress and if it exists, delete it using regedit.exe
