If the prism application appears to display an "prism has stopped working" error message interfering with your day to day tasks, then is it most likely the issue with a corrupted config file that exists in your designed prism folder. This happens mostly due to forced connection of our application whilst its trying to connect to the server to fetch its configuration or the machine accidentally or unintentionally being shut down whilst the config fetching process happens.
In regards to the events of the above, please follow these steps to get your prism application functioning again.
-
exit prism by right clicking the icon in the system tray and clicking exit
-
delete Config.xml from the installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\prism\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\prism\)
-
restart prism through the desktop or start menu shortcuts
-
Once these steps are followed, the config file will auto generate in its usual place. The progress bar will pop up and then go away after a minute. Once this is done, the error should not pop-up.
Note: If you use a Proxy of any kind, do not delete the Config.xml file but instead remove all lines except the following (if they exist): <ProxyAddress>, <ProxyDomain>, <ProxyIsStatic>, <ProxyUsername>, <ProxyPassword>
